Aer lingus belfast flights cancelled

A former pilot, who lost his job due to Covid restrictions in the flight industry, has opened a new aviation-themed cafe in Belfast.

Alexander Torres is originally from France but moved to Northern Ireland for work and has since travelled the world working numerous jobs as a pilot, before he faced redundancy when Coronavirus ground the flight industry to a halt.

However, rather than settle for losing, Alex decided to go down a different path and set up his own cafe.

Flight7, located on the Belmont Road, is an aviation-themed cafe which brings together Alex's love for food, with his love for flying.

He told Belfast Live: "I was working in Qatar for Qatar Airways last year.

Then when the whole Covid situation happened, we started to see that the traffic was going down, so redundancy became something that seemed like it could really happen.
